Who we are
Task Columns is a project layer on top of Google Tasks. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can disconnect or ask us to delete it. Contact: josef2011@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Google sign-in: name, email address, and profile photo (scopes
openid, email, profile). - Google Tasks: task title, notes, due date, completion status, parent, order, and the Task List they belong to. We request
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasksso we can sync those fields both ways. - Task Columns data: projects, workflow column, priority, labels, estimate, blocked state, and similar fields you set in this app. These stay in our database and are not written into Google notes.
- Technical: session cookies and encrypted Google refresh tokens on the server so sync can run after you close the browser.
How we use it
We use this data only to run Task Columns: sign you in, show your tasks, let you organize them into projects and columns, and sync Google-owned fields back to Google Tasks. We do not sell personal data. We do not use Google Tasks content for advertising or to train unrelated models.
Where it is stored
Application data lives in Postgres hosted by Neon. Google refresh tokens are encrypted on the server and are never sent to the browser. Hosting is on Vercel at https://taskcolumns.com.
Limited Use
Task Columns uses Google user data, including Google Tasks, only to provide or improve user-facing features of this app. We do not sell that data, do not use it for advertising, and do not allow independent transfer except as needed to provide the service, for security, or as required by law.
Sharing
We do not share your Google Tasks with other companies except the infrastructure processors needed to run the product (Vercel, Neon, Google as the source of Tasks). We will disclose data if required by law.
Your choices
- Disconnect Google Tasks in Settings → Integrations. That stops new sync and we drop the stored tokens.
- Revoke access in your Google Account under Third-party access.
- Email josef2011@gmail.com to request deletion of your Task Columns workspace. Google Tasks in your Google account are not deleted by that request unless you delete them in Google.
Children
Task Columns is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the effective date.
